Belakang Kong Heng Ipoh Hotel

Fully recommend for a memorable stay in the heart of Ipoh!

Pros: The hotel is located extremely centrally, within an original/old complex that now houses shops and restaurants. During the day, the area is very busy with tourists, but in the night all shopes are closed down and entrance is only for hotel guests. The hotel is renovated with great style, keeping the old structure intact and adding simple design elements. The rooms are are beautiful and comfy, AC works great, and the bathroom was very nice. One hotel wing has a rooftop pool, which is fantastic for a quick refreshing dip (but its not possible to lounge at the pool, no pool beds). Apart from numerous restaurants/cafés, there is also a 7-Eleven within 1min from the hotel. The hotel staff is very helpful, responsive and can help arrange transport or activities.

Cons: The hotel does not offer breakfast, but there are several cafés and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The roads around the hotel are quite busy also in the night (so bring earplugs).

Our stay was comfortable and the location is convenient.

Pros: We booked the queen room with balcony and liked the whole space as it is well lit with natural lighting and good ventilation.

Cons: The floor may be a bit dusty so we had to wear indoor slippers. Additionally, there were no parking spots provided specifically for the hotel guests so we had to look for street parking as the private parking area available was also full at the time.

Pros: - Great location - Access to the pool 24 hours (there is shallow part, just calf lengthn for kids, the pool is about 1.3m, I'm 1.43m and the water level is at my neck) - Hair dryer/ iron is available at the counter - Cold and hot water available - Sink to wash dishes also available, bowls plates cutlery mugs available - got microwave also - There is a TV, hammock, bed and couch at the common area (upstairs) - Staff is helpful (Andy), he ensured our safety when we swim at night - No ghost here ok - For Muslim, bring your own prayer mat and attire - Plan b restaurant is quite expensive, you can try the Arif Cendol, Miker Pizza (5 min walk to Ipoh Padang) and Nasi Ayam Taugeh Las Vegas ( 2 mins walk) and Rahmath nasi kandar

Cons: Bidetless toilet Bathroom has a glass wall, the sheer curtain can still see through 👀 Standard queen room is building just beside plan b, the pool is in another building (i think for superior room), so have to walk a bit - parking is tough. Remember to pay the parking fee if u come monday-saturday using the apps park@perak

Pros: No breakfast provided. The location is indeed in the Kong Heng area, but there’s no signboard, so it’s a bit tricky to find.

Always admired buildings where the architect renovates them with respect for the original structure

Pros: I love and appreciate the details and architecture of how they refurbished the old building to convert into rooms.

Cons: I love the swimming pool design however the flooring aggregates are a bit uncomfortable to step on.

Pros: The place was great. Clean room etc. Easy access to other places, walking distance to popular areas. Food nearby was good/ipoh style. Receptionist Uncle was very helpful nice fast respond. Definitely value for good place to stay. Also love the view from our room both deluxe queen/king. The room as per image shown in website.

Cons: Obviously will hear vehicles from the road that’s beyond control but just for a short moment not critical disturbing at all, enjoy the town vibe.

Good value for money for quick stop over

Pros: Close to the train station (not much to do in Ipoh but used as a stop over from kl - penang) but restaurants all around so easy to grab dinner. The hotel is industrial style as per photos, bedroom was spacious with a balcony and great view. Comphy bed, good air con, clean, good shower. Overall great value for money if you need a stop over place.

Cons: Host was a bit strange but perhaps a humour we didn’t understand. But he was kind enough to wait for us on the street for check in as entrance is confusing to find.

Pros: A wondrous room and building oozing atmosphere and history. Amazing shower and roof terrace.

Industrial vibe hotel In fabulous location!

Pros: Absolutely perfect location, right in the heart of Old Ipoh, just above the Book Xcess bookshop. Very cool industrial chic rooms, huge, with great fixtures and fittings. Our room was at front but had extra window of insulation. Not all rooms have own bathroom so check when booking. Woudl definitely book again there and recommend.

Cons: Small details but a hand towel in addition to bathtowels. A couple of mugs in addition to glasses for hot drinks.

Pros: Location was fantastic, and room was clean and cosy!

Cons: The walls are a bit thin so I could hear my neighbours eg when they came back after 12am and took a shower. I'm a light sleeper so I struggled to fall asleep for awhile
