iBook Gurney Suites

Pros: Location. Clean. Comfortable bed. Shower adequate. Excellent value.

Cons: For the price, I can't criticise anything

My mother and I enjoyed our stay in iBook6 very much. Definitely worth a repeat booking!!

Pros: We requested a room on the ground floor due to my mother's inability to climb stairs. Our car-park lot was directly in front of our room door at street level (with a small awning, in case of rain). The Gurney hawker centre is within walking distance -- although a little too far for my mother (in her 80's), but not for me. The suite is a good size with excellent ceiling and lamps placements around the room. Strong Wi-Fi so that I could catch up on my work in the evenings (Thanks heaps!!). There is a water filter with its own access to a dedicated tap, so the supply of drinking water is limitless. The host and staff were responsive and helpful -- thank you to Wendy, Yennie and Indera.

Cons: 1). There was no shower curtain (or divider) to prevent the bathroom floor (near the toilet) from becoming wet when someone showers. There's nothing more uncomfortable than sitting on the toilet seat with your feet on a wet floor. 2). There was an electric kettle in the room, with some crockery and cutlery -- but no complimentary coffee/tea. You must remember to bring your own sachets of coffee/tea.

Will book again!

Pros: Location is at the center, parking so easy in the property area. Room is clean and well maitained. Self check in and self checkout is excellent.

Cons: No toothbrush provided, no instant coffee or tea. No mineral water, water purifier provided but need to boil the water firsf to make it drinkable.

Worth for the money

Pros: The location is within walking distance. The verandah and living hall is nice. Easy to get food

Cons: Wifi was not function on second day of stay

Pros: We had a wonderful stay at iBook Gurney Suites! 🌟 The place was absolutely great — very clean, cozy, and comfortable, making it feel like a home away from home. A special thanks to our host, Wendy, who was such a sweet and thoughtful person. She was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. When our flight got delayed, she kindly allowed us to stay a few extra hours without any additional charge — such a kind gesture that truly made a difference 🥰. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Penang!

Cons: Nothing much, just the AC in the room was not working at it's full potential.

Pros: The place was clean and spacious. Perfect for a weekend getaway. Host was very clear with instructions. Parking was a bit difficult with big cars but still manageable. Location was very near to Gurney Plaza, walkable distance, right in the heart of town.

Cons: A shower curtain so the water doesn't splash out from the bathing area. Just a minor inconvenience.

Pros: The place is clean and comfortable. Great location. Staff helpful, change faulty bulb on the spot.

Cons: Only one toilet for 8 guests. No sink in the kitchen. One of the bathroom water trap was stuck, resulting in slow water flowing down the trap hole.

Cons: One small issue was that the air conditioning wasn’t very effective at night — I had to use the fan to stay cool. It wasn’t a major problem, but something to note for light sleepers or during hotter nights.
