The Brownstone Hostel & Space

Pros: Good hostel for socialisation, met some great people in the communal breakfast area with ease. Facilities are also wonderful with plenty of spaces to hang out and a decent kitchenette.

Cons: Lots of mosquitos throughout the hostel which meant you get bit a lot. Breakfast was fairly simple but I just grabbed some fruit and yogurt from nearby to customise it for cheap.

Pros: Nice vibe, lot’s of chill areas, good breakfast availability. Bathroom facilities were great :)

Cons: The area wasn’t nice but nothing to do with the property.

Pros: Cheap, 20 minute walk to the centre, cheap postcard service, kitchen available to make your own food, great style, well maintained and cleaned, helpful staff, shampoo, shower gel and towel provided for free, good blackout curtains, and it was very quiet in the room.

Cons: Breakfast was a small packet of oatcakes, toast or cereal and the cafe was closed at the time of my visit. The room was not secure so anybody could have walked in.

Excellent value for money.

Pros: Everything was very clean. There were lots of common spaces to either hang out with people or relax quietly.

Cons: Having a free breakfast was very nice, it was mostly all sweet foods however (high sugar cereal, or toast with jam, peanut butter, butter, or chocolate spread).

Definitely be back whenever I visit Ipoh again

Pros: Location is in walking distance to a lot of interesting places

Pros: Nice place, beautiful, a lot of accommodation , such a chill place to stay, nearby the town..

Cons: No lift..

Pros: Clean and comfortable with lots of nice social/shared spaces. They have post cards you can send from the hostel and a good selection of cold drinks making it really easy to chill in really nice surroundings. The shared bathrooms were clean and spacious. Quiet hours well respected. Would definitely stay again.

Cons: Location is about 15/20 mins from main sites which can feel quite long in the heat. This wouldn’t stop me from staying again though and grabs are very easy to use.

Nice, clean, comfortable and well designed setting to spend a couple nights. One of the owner was painting watercolours

Pros: Spacious, well decorated, brilliant staff, relaxed feel

Cons: It was a walk from the centre of Ipoh, but that said still had many nice cafes and restraunts in close proximity

Spacious & nice vibes, friendly staff

Pros: Staff were very helpful and friendly -- gave a tour of the whole hostel so we know where everything is. Dorm was also pretty spacious, even had a seating area facing the view outside to chill.

Cons: A little pricier for hostel

Awesome place to stay. Will definitely recommend to friends.

Pros: Complimentary breakfast was good. Optionally there are restaurants nearby, walking distance.

Cons: Nothing!
