Pleasant stay in Ipoh with super friendly staff

Pros: Good location within easy walking distance of Heritage district of town which was very interesting. No breakfast at hotel but right next door to a lovely eatery which offered malaysian style breakfast and approx 5 -10 mins walk away from places serving western styles. Staff were kind and super helpful in every way.

Cons: Can't honestly say i didnt like our room but it was quite 'cosy' in size and with a very small, covered window so felt like we were sleeping in a cupboard (but that may have been because we didn't book direct). We spent so little time actually in our room so it was not the biggest problem.

Excellent location, charming heritage property.

Pros: We ate out as no breakfast available on site. Room comfortable and very clean. Staff welcoming and helpful. Great location, very central. Lovely old heritage building full of character.

Pros: Beautiful heritage hotel in Ipoh old town. Staff were so friendly helpful and welcoming. Comfortable and clean. Fill up water station. Able to open shutters on windows to allow lots of light into the room or make it dark for a good sleep-in. Family room was great size for 4 adult size people!

Pros: Sarang Paloh Heritage Stay was a great base in Ipoh. The staff were genuinely helpful and made everything easy from check-in to local tips. The location is also excellent — close to the main walking areas and attractions, so it was simple to get around on foot. Would happily stay here again.

Cons: One small note: it can be a bit noisy until around 11:00 PM because of the pub across the street, but it closes early enough that it didn’t keep us up all night. Overall, I’d happily stay here again.

Awesome small hotel in a heritage building.

Pros: The hotel is an attractive and handy place to stay for exploring old and new town Ipoh. Close by are great restaurants and breakfast places, and New Town is full of all the food options for which Ipoh is famous. The hotel is very comfortable with friendly and helpful management and staff. Love all the bird references 😁

Cons: The air-conditioning blows directly onto the bed in the room we had. This may not bother you!!!

A good choice for Ipoh Old Town

Pros: Beautiful old and interesting building. Very good new bathroom in family room. Large

Cons: Keys and access. Locking the front door between 5 and 8pm while offering only one key for two people caused us some inconvenience when we realised the situation.

Lovely building

Pros: It is a lovely old building (if you have trouble with stairs you may want to check accessibility) with lots of charm very close to the train station and interesting laneways.

Cons: A few trip hazards as you enter the room but as long as you notice them or remember them the second time that is fine.

Pros: Beautiful heritage building in a great location. The accommodation is located a short walk from the train station, is right next to the old town and is close to lots of good restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable. I have seen a few negative reviews about the air conditioning, but our room got very cold very quickly, so was not an issue at all.
