Songtam Hotel

Pros: This is our 3rd stay at Songtam Hotel in the last month. The beds and pillows are so very comfortable- the linens and towels very fresh and new! Air con, water pressure and temperature all excellent! Quiet at night to sleep - walking us easy to central sites to visit. Many places to eat!

Cons: Nothing is bad

Pros: Our second time staying at Songtam! This time we received a different room - wow. So nice! Great lay out. Nice and dark to sleep. Same extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Beautiful fresh linens and towels (again). Very clean. Water pressure and temperature excellent 👌 Everything is perfect !

Cons: Only 1 item - 1 wall behind the bed has mold coming through the paint - this happens with time - we ventilate the air by opening the windows briefly.

Pros: In the centre of the town. Easy to find restaurants.

Pros: Staff was friendly and check-in easy. Location was close to some restaurants but a 10 to 12m walk brought you to a market and more options. The room was simple but very clean and large. The bed was insanely comfortable. Airco working as expected and was able to sleep well all nights.

Cons: No dislikes, wish they had an elevator.

Pros: Very spacious room for a solo traveler. Very clean throughout. Excellent price.

A pleasant stay with excellent bedding and friendly staff, and a good choice for a short visit to Ipoh.

Pros: I had a very good stay at Songtam Hotel. The room was clean, well equipped, and comfortable. What really stood out was the bedding. The bed had a super comfortable mattress, perfect pillows, and silk soft cotton linen. After one month of travelling in Malaysia, this was the highest quality bedding I have found so far. It made a real difference to the quality of my rest. A solid choice for a short stay in Ipoh.

Cons: There are a few things to be aware of, although not necessarily negatives. There is no lobby and no lift, but I understand it is an old building. At the ground floor there is a popular restaurant that serves excellent food. The hotel counter is inside the restaurant, and the staff send a WhatsApp message on arrival to stay in touch for anything needed. Their working hours follow the restaurant schedule from 10.30 am to 10.30 pm, but outside these hours they still reply promptly by WhatsApp and were very accommodating with my requests. The only thing I really missed was a mirror in the room. I had to use the one in the bathroom, which has very little space for skincare products or makeup, so I kept going back and forth from the large desk. It is a small inconvenience but worth mentioning.

Pleasant and comfortable, good value for money.

Pros: Well located. Close to many food vendors, laundromat, and convenience stores. Short walk to Ipoh Parade shopping mall. Easy walk into old sector of town, Concubine Lane and tourist areas. The room was clean and comfortable with good air conditioning. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Would stay here again.

Pros: The room was a good size, walking distance (for us, around 15 minutes) to the main touristic area, the room was spacious and nice.

Cons: The check in process was really weird, you have to text someone else, and then ask for the keys at a restaurant, it feels like they're doing you a favour when you're paying for the service.

Pros: Clean and nice, wish we could stay more than one night.
