Pros: Comfortable hotel with great character in a nice location. The traditional style of the building is quite charming.

Cons: The stairs were quite steep and narrow and are difficult to navigate with suitcases. Also the stairs can be difficult for older people or those who are less mobile to ascend. I would recommend staying on the ground floor if you have large suitcases or have trouble ascending steep stairs.

A unique family-run heritage house with tasteful decoration

Pros: Great heritage hotel. All is so tastefully decorated with several cozy corners to sit in common areas with classic furniture. Room was large with nice classic furniture. All worked well in hotel, good wifi. Free coffee/tea/biscuits all time and free water to fill. You get a lot of information where nearby you can enjoy Penang food. Very friendly owner-family. Located in a quiet street, about 15 minutes walk to Chulia Street or Komtar.

Cons: Room on 1st floor had very high ceiling, therefore aircon was not supercool but o.k. for me. In first floor we were told that we better not open windows due to mosquitos, therefore, there was no view due to the wooden coverage of the windows. Private bath was not in room but opposite, a few meters to walk over the corridor. All this are small things one has to keep in mind when one stays in a old heritage hotel. But staying in such a heritage hotel is a unique experience one should not miss out when in Penang.

Quiet and peaceful stay

Pros: The house is a very nicely restored old building with wooden floors and ceilings that make it very welcoming and pleasant. The common areas are also very enjoyable. It was nice to have coffee and tea, would have gladly payed extra for breakfast, I would suggest adding the service as it would make the place even better. Staff was very helpful and welcoming. Being on a side street our room was also very quiet. Beds very comfy

Comfortable stay and definitely would recommend to others

Pros: Felt very comfortable and they had water/coffee/tea for guests all day long.

Cons: No cot for babies.

Pros: Super friendly staff, great location, easily walkable to most parts of town, very comfortable rooms and communal areas were always spotless. Beautiful place to stay, we recommend very highly.

Absolutely stunning heritage hotel

Pros: Do not hesitate to book this hotel. It is absolutely stunning. A gorgeous, old shop-house building that has been beautifully maintained and tastefully decorated. It is filled with lovely antiques and quirky objects. The location is great. Everything is nearby but you are set back in a quiet street making it very peaceful for a city hotel. The staff are really friendly, kind and helpful and made us very welcome. We had the king room with a balcony onto the street. There were so many pretty details. It was also immaculately clean, the bed was soft and comfortable and the shower was hot. There is free tea and coffee available and a drinking water dispenser. I would absolutely stay at Ke-lan-tan again. It is excellent value for the price. Thank you so much for making our Christmas and New Year memorable.

Perfect

Pros: It was in a great location where you were able to walk to many amazing restaurants/ tourist attractions and bars. It was a beautiful large room and such great value for money. We were very pleased and the staff were lovely !

Pros: Amazing little spot close to the heart of old Georgetown. This place is a must for people wanting to try the food, as its close to all the spots. The two men that work there are some of the best people in the business, they are super friendly help with anything and are always quick with a meal recommendation and a chat!

Cons: Nothing, loved the place and will be back to eat more food!
