Great Stay at 22 Macalisterz

Pros: This accommodation was really modern and clean, the room was spacious with plenty of storage, we really appreciated the filtered water, pool was a lovely temperature with amazing views.

Cons: I would have liked a toaster as breakfast establishments are limited, also a information pack would have been great saving the need to queue up at reception for answers to mundane questions but important to me. Also advertised is a bar and grill however this is not open it would have been nice to have eaten at the accommodation a couple of times after a long day siteseeing.

Looking forward for my second time staycation with my family.

Pros: Location convenient and easy to wandering. Fair price of room rate.

Pros: We loved the calm, Japanese-inspired interiors — the wood tones and neutral palette made the whole space feel soothing and elegant. The rooms had plenty of natural light during the day and the beds were so comfortable that it truly felt like a home away from home.

Cons: There was a bit of light dust from nearby renovations, but it wasn’t an issue since housekeeping was provided free of charge and responded quickly. The kitchenette was adequately equipped for light cooking, making it easy to prepare simple meals whenever we wanted.

Great location for practical people

Pros: - Excellent central location: Right in the heart of Penang, close to major attractions and especially convenient for exploring the local food scene. - Apartment-style concept: More of a serviced apartment than a traditional hotel, ideal for business travelers, fast-paced stays, or longer stays. - Very clean and new: The property is quite new, so rooms and facilities feel fresh and well maintained. - Well-equipped kitchen: Suitable for one person (utensils provided for one). Great if you plan to cook during your stay. - Good amenities: Supermarket on the ground floor and a rooftop infinity-style swimming pool. - Quiet rooms: Comfortable and calm despite the central location. - Recognized local brand: Macalisterz is a well-known brand in Penang with multiple properties across the city.

Cons: - Not a full-service hotel: No breakfast or typical hotel facilities, so guests should be aware before booking. - Check-in process: Check-in is only allowed at the official time. Luggage storage is available, but since the building is large and many guests arrive at the same time, expect some waiting. - Elevator waiting time: Elevators can take a while, especially during peak times. - Staff attitude: Staff are quite formal and not very friendly. One interaction felt unnecessarily uncomfortable when we were simply looking for our key in our bag in the lobby. - Storage space: Adequate for one traveler or two people with light luggage, but limited for heavier packing.
