Muntri Grove

I’m so glad we chose to stay at Muntri Grove.

Pros: I’m so glad we chose to stay at Muntri Grove. It is a truly wonderful place in a perfect location for exploring George Town. The room was incredibly large with a unique, open layout that just works. It featured a huge, comfortable bed and a big, long couch that made the space feel authentic and very Malaysian. Even though the bathroom layout was a bit unusual, it was functional and added to the charm of the heritage building. The grounds are interesting and very relaxing, providing a peaceful escape from the busy city. We made good use of the pool—it’s on the smaller side, but so refreshing in the heat. A real highlight was the afternoon tea; it was a lovely touch and very enjoyable. We did hear music from a nearby disco one night, but it was faint enough that it didn't bother us much. Most importantly, the staff was absolutely wonderful—warm, friendly, and always ready to help. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a unique and welcoming stay in George Town.

Great location, spacious rooms and lovely pool

Pros: The location off the hotel is great, the staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and the pool is lovely located on the second floor - you get both privacy but a glimpse out over the city.

Cons: It would have been nice with a small bar by the pool. There are no services in terms of food and bevarage at the hotel.

We stayed for a week at Muntri Grove. We highly recommend it.

Pros: A lovely 2 storeyed heritage building with spacious rooms with outside terraces on the ground floor. We really enjoyed the swimming pool. The property is very well maintained. The staff were excellent- friendly helpful and efficient.

Pros: The room was big, looked authentic. Great staff, free ice cream. Cheap laundry.

Cons: Noise from nearby bars at night. Toilet is in the middle of the room and the door is with gaps. The TV is basically not working.

Home from home

Pros: Just as shown in the pictures. Lovely big room and very comfortable. Great shower and had the best nights sleep. Great location for exploring all of George Town and close to the bus station. Great eatery opposite called spitfire for food and drinks.

Cons: It would have been nice to have sun loungers by the pool upstairs.

Wouldn’t mind coming back to this unique shophouse again!

Pros: Staff were friendly & helpful. Property was located in a quiet yet walkable distance to attractions. Overall chill environment. Room was spacious & comfortable. We were well-aware of the potential loud music that might be heard in the night but they were honestly rather faint. We slept well :)

Cons: Floor was a little dusty. Bathroom tiles were slightly uneven, which could have been slightly hazardous. Mosquitoes in area. Main door lock was a little wonky, required numerous attempts before we could lock it up.

Pros: Super cute room, nice pool, super friendly staff. Have stayed multiple times and would stay again :)

Cons: Totally out of their control, but there is a nightclub next door that blasts music late at night, and then a school on the other side that has screaming (playing lol) children of a morning, so would not recommend if you're a light sleeper.

We would like to visit again!

Pros: Our room was charming and clean, thanks to Mr. Krisna and his colleagues. The staff professional, friendly and very welcoming. Ms. Chan, Mr. Martin and En. Suffian made every effort to ensure that guests were well taken care of. We enjoyed the afternoon tea very much, and chatted with some friendly Australian guests, which enriched the experience. Highly Recommended!

Georgetown heritage site for a relaxing stay.

Pros: It was well located which allowed us to walk around the Georgetown area. The style of the property was very nice and I especially enjoyed this being preserved.

Cons: In the evenings the music venues music drifted into the room.
