Modern Hotel Georgetown

Pick the room with the bath!

Pros: Great location walking distance to all George Town has to offer - great room and most of all great bath! We were in room 110 and the noises from outside did not wake us up. Great stay!

Cons: All good

Pros: ・All the staff are kind. ・I chose the bathtub.the bath bomb and bath salt service were good. ・There is a water server, so you can drink water with peace of mind.

Cons: ・Wake up in the Koran before sunrise ・You can see the bathroom from the building opposite. ・When you enter the room, you can smell the damp smell unique to old buildings. Ventilation is required.

Exceptional 🌟

Pros: The design, exterior and interior. Cleanliness and staff service; top notch. Very very strategic location. None of the facilities went wrong during the stay.

Cons: Stairs with 2 levels. No lift. Maybe management can improvise 😄

Convieniece and location was spot on

Pros: Staff was really friendly and the location means you can walk to anywhere you want.

Cons: The mosque is right next door literally. What that means is a call to prayer announcement at the early hours of the morning which you will hear!

Pros: Friendly Staff Check In and Check Out Process Very Fast...

Cons: The floor tiles in bathroom very very slippery dangerous

Spacious and comfortable

Pros: Loved the location of the hotel, we were only in Georgetown for less than 24hrs, so it was a great base to explore the town from. A lot of attractions, amazing bars and restaurants were within a 15 minute walking distance. The staff were very friendly, and honestly it was good value for what we paid considering the price was on the lower end. Room was cozy and spacious, it was easy to feel comfortable. My partner also drove us from KL to Georgetown so we had been worried about the parking situation, but there is conveniently a parking lot you can pay for right next to the hotel.

Cons: There was no elevator so that caught us a bit off guard. When we got in, we decided to put our valuables in the safe only to find out the safe was locked and not working, and our toilet stopped working the evening we got there, the tank stopped refilling. These were minor inconveniences to an otherwise incredible experience in Georgetown.

Pros: amazing location right in the heart of georgetown with all attractions at walkable distance. clean, quite and surrounded by amazing cafes. the bath tub in the executive room was just worth it

Pros: Nice location and nice decoration. 24/7 market shop facing the hotel great for late night cravings

Cons: balcony bathroom bathtub is a bit old broken rusty sofa not clean a lot of stains but the rest of the room was fine and wonderful

Comfortable and stylish!

Pros: Have travelled to Penang every year and each time have stayed at a different hotel. The Modern Hotel is great on all accounts and I'd be happy to stay there next year. It's really classy and comfortable- like a baby Eastern and Oriental, but better value. It has a touch of class and style lacking in not so good hotels for the same money. The staff are excellent and go above and beyond in all they do.
