Pros: We had a fabulous stay at Miner's House, a property that has been sympathetically restored and converted to a hostel, a lot of information relating to the property's interesting history is displayed on the walls. We were upgraded to the king size room and both the room and the bed were very comfortable with a powerful fan and air conditioning. The bathroom had a really good shower and there was always hot water. There was a choice of breakfast options which you choose the evening before so it can be freshly prepared. We really appreciated being able to get our laundry done, there is a washer/drier and detergent is provided for a nominal sum. Jazz and all the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We will certainly return if we are ever in Ipoh.

Pros: Extremely warm staff with great local recommendations. Stayed in a spacious private room for a very fair price with some basic breakfast included.

Cons: Nothing major, location was a little inconvenient for walking but it’s a small town so no big issues. Some small repairs are needed in the room like fixing the toilet seat.

Pros: Definitely the best place I stayed in Malaysia. 2 pillows, thick mattress, clean sheets, towel, privacy, great social areas. Really great hostel with a lovely owner.

Pros: The building is like a 100 years old or more, builded by British miners if i'm not mistaken. Thick walls, beautiful wood, nice curated interiors. The rooms are nice and spacious with a lot of privacy and comfortable beds. There is also a beautiful common hall, two terraces, possibility to wash your clothes and a little breakfast choice wich is kindly included.The owners are beautiful educated and kind persons. Simply one of the best hostel i ever stayed. Terima kasih!

Lovely friendly comfortable guesthouse

Pros: Lovely staff. Comfortable beds at the right temperature. Free laundry. Great common areas. WiFi. Free hot and cold drinking water and tea and coffee all day. I would happily have stayed longer if there was more to do in the city. Would definitely recommend it.

Cons: Location is OK but a bit of a walk from the train and bus stations. Breakfast options are limited and you have to pre-order the day before, but you can always make your own in the kitchen.

Wish I had more time in Ipoh and this Hostel.

Pros: The best Hostel on my trip to Malaysia so far. Staff took us out to the New Years night market and was just very helpful and friendly all the time. Common areas are plentiful and extra nice.
