Charming girl and a great location

Pros: Beautiful building, friendly helpful staff, easy walking distance to town highlights, relaxed and varied breakfast to start the day.

Cons: I liked it all. I thought some of the paths along Chulia street could do with a trip hazard make over like some of the side streets

Wonderful stay

Pros: We were blown away by the attentiveness and kindness of the staff who were all very welcoming. They were always happy and delivered a cake to the room for my birthday. Hotel itself was beautiful and felt very special. Breakfast was great. We could not fault the overall feeling of the hotel.

Cons: If I could rate it 9.5 I would, the only downside was the bed which was too firm for my preference and made it hard to sleep.

A happy, privileged stay in a beautiful hotel

Pros: This is possibly the most beautiful hotel in Georgetown - small; centrally located; helpful friendly staff! The reception and dining areas were filled with stunningly ornate furniture and we felt fortunate to be able to access and stay at this historic hotel. Loved it!

Cons: Nothing. It was all so beautiful!

A short stay in Penang

Pros: The hotel is located in the midst of the historical quarter of George town, Penang. We had the suite which faced Chulia Street, a main thoroughfare.As such it was a little noisy but not a problem.We walked to most of the sights and restaurants. The hotel has a restaurant next to it which, however we did not try except for breakfast that was included.

Cons: The breakfast which was included was basic and disappointing.

Excellent hotel with heritage appeal right in the middle of Georgetown, you won't find better!

Pros: Yeng Keng's staff were excellent, so very helpful, friendly, always greeting with a smile and ready for a chat, advise offered on where to go, what to do were on point, they even helped us make bookings for restaurants. Whether it was the day or night staff, all round 5 star team ! Location of Yeng Keng was so convenient, with onsite parking. The pool was a surprise bonus for us. Rooms were comfortable, with nice hot shower. Security on site. Breakfast had a nice spread, food quality was good. We absolutely loved Yeng Keng and will be back.

Cons: Lighting could be better, space in room tight & at times awkward but workable. Rooms lacking somewhere to dry clothes e.g. swimmers.

Love it!

Pros: This is one of the locations that you will start to love when staying a few days longer, The staff in this hotel is absolutely the best. Everyone is considerable and supportive. The location is very convenient, the busy road is not the most charming but you won’t be bothered by it when being in the hotel. And yes, it has plastic furniture and plants (we read some comments in previous reviews), but you won’t notice it anymore after enjoying the cosy rooms, lovely staff and tasteful breakfast (go for the perfect omelette and Malaysian desserts)
