Museum Hotel

Stunning period property in the heart of Georgetown.

Pros: It was everything described in Booking.com and more besides! its a very impressive period property, beautifully maintained. There is much more to it than the description suggests.

Cons: I enjoyed everything. Perhaps ensure that some guests don't expect a swimming pool, its only for paddling.

Lovely colonial hotel well located for exploring Penang

Pros: A nice colonial hotel with beautiful decor. The room was very comfortable with everything we needed and the staff were very friendly.

Cons: I would’ve liked to have more choice for breakfast. I am a fruit lover and would’ve liked to have an option for a large plate of fruit. The selection on offer was quite limited and a bit stodgy

Vintage kind of stay!

Pros: Good location, near to eateries and restaurants. And the room is very comfortable with a vintage taste to it. Pleasant ambience. Parking is available too.

Cons: All good.

A lovely historical hotel in the middle of Georgetown.

Pros: I loved the feel of the hotel, the decor was lovely and cultural/historical. Staff were very friendly and the size of the room (quadruple) was great for us as a family of four. The restaurant attached to the hotel was also very nice and we ate there for breakfast and dinner. Good food and reasonably priced. Staff were also very friendly. The location, in Georgetown, meant the main tourist attractions were walkable so we enjoyed lots of wandering around the old streets and historical neighbourhoods.

Cons: The furniture in our sitting area was very old and the cushions were almost non existent. They were not very comfortable.

Great basic hotel full of historic charm

Pros: Full of character and charm, just like photos. Bedroom has all you need, kettle, tea, coffee, mini fridge and bottled water. Bed very firm and comfortable. Bathroom very clean and good water pressure in shower. Good air conditioning and fan.

Cons: On-site cafe is very basic, staff need a little training, they are very friendly and willing but don't anticipate guests' needs. Bottled beer not adequately chilled, no staff in the bar when we went. Breakfast is ok but food options during the day try to please a Western palate. Stick to local foods that are authentic, well-made and in keeping with the character of the hotel. Swimming pool is NOT for Swimming. It is a water feature that you could maybe dip your feet in. Very disappointing.

Pros: The colonial building, coolness and style with real wooden floors. Staff were very helpful. Good sized room with comfortable bed.

Pros: Very clean rooms, attentive staff and accommodating our needs.

Cons: All rooms are two-storied. Bedrooms on the upper floor, while bathrooms and living area on the lower windows. Might be inconvenient to people with mobility issues

Pros: Traditional hotel. Outstanding accommodation. Very large room with a large bathroom all fitted out with antique furnishings.

Comfy hotel in a heritage shophouse building dating back to colonial times under British rule.

Pros: Breakfast was awesome just like my previous visit. This time, my girlfriend ordered pancakes and I had the Smoked Salmon Bagel, which was just delicious!

Charming hotel with nice decor

Pros: The hotel is beautiful and indeed looks like a museum. We booked a suite, and it was spacious and charming; we loved the decor. Very good central location and there is quick and easy access to the highway to the airport. Staff are caring, attentive, and very friendly and professional.
