Fantastic colonial style hotel in heritage area
Pros: Very central to the heritage area and lots of options to visit and to eat out. Hotel itself is very colonial style with lots of seating areas and comfy places. Not a big hotel but love the atmosphere. Staff were very helpful. Room was big, plenty of hot water, and housekeeping daily so room was always clean and tidy. Safe and hairdryer are available in room plus kettle and coffee.
Cons: Our only complaint which is outwith the hotels control was the daily call to prayer which can happen very early in the morning and later on in the evening.

Great stay
Pros: It's a lovely boutique hotel, with beautiful decoration and character, we absolutely loved the architecture and the renovated traditional house. We booked the family room, which has a small separate room, and it was very spacious. Very clean too. They don't provide breakfast but there's tea and coffee and a water fountain. The location is great too, on a quite side street but in the middle of the old town, so super close to all the action.
Cons: The only negative is that there is a mosque just around the corner and the several daily calls to prayer were extremely loud, literally like having the loud speaker next door. The first one was around 6:15am and it woke everyone up, and it would last up to 15 min every morning. If you are an early riser or can go back to sleep easily, I guess it's not a big issue, but my kids were up and couldn't go back to sleep after that. To be fair, we saw several mosques in the old town, within a relatively small radius, so it might be the case that wherever you are in the old town, you can hear one mosque or another. Not sure. Apart from that, everything else was great.

Pros: The Hotel is super cute and very tidy! We really felt like home. There was fresh water that you could refill anytime, also the staff was very friendly and kind! :)
Cons: We already read the reviews beforehand, so we knew that it could be quite loud at night, that was true. We had our room directly next to the street so you could really hear everything going out outside. In our first night there was a strange ticking noise all the time but it was gone the second night. :)

Pros: The staff are very friendly. Very strategic location. Close to the art street n tourist attraction
Cons: The room on the ground floor..facing the street - the light from the corridor can be disturbing as it shines into the room. - can easily hear people walking and talking at thr corridor

Great location, fantastic room
Pros: The hotel room and the location were excellent — truly outstanding in terms of comfort.
Cons: I deeply respect the local customs, but since the mosque was right next to the hotel, the 6 a.m. call to prayer was very loud and made it a bit difficult to sleep through the early mornings.

You have to book here! You won't be disappointed
Pros: Everything! This place has so much character to it and also was very functional/comfortable. I booked a family loft room and the layout was perfect in having some level of privacy. The location of the hotel is so central with so many eateries and major attractions close by (all within walking distance). I will book this place again when I return to George Town.

Perfect location in heart of george town, Helpfull staff and cozy place to stay.
Pros: Spacious property, location is very near Armenian street, lots of things to do.
Cons: Wifi was not good. I was not getting any signal from wifi in my room.

WONDERFUL STAY AT SPICES HOTEL!
Pros: The location was absolutely perfect so much so that we prolonged our stay to three nights! This historic building with its charming boho style lobby was a pleasure to casually sit in and chat. The knowledgeable staff was wonderful, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The large and absolutely quiet room was lovely, impeccably clean and soooo comfortable. I highly recommend
